Scott Hime is a photographic artist working from his studio in Sarasota, Florida. Scott Hime’s deep interest in Black and White large format Fine Art Photography, and his love of the classic landscape started back in his college years. All processing and printing of his work is personally handled by Scott, and with stringent adherence to the highest of archival standards.
Scott has several themes he continually returns to throughout the years. He creates primarily Landscape, Still Life and Figure images. In this wandering, he most enjoys the sense of discovery, and the act of visual exploration when putting together an image on the ground glass.
Within his images Scott seeks movement. Either from the subject itself or from the compositional elements. He is seeking to pull your eye through the image and have you discover the visual treasures. His work is primarily Black & White, and a little color. He utlizies all camera formats. He loves using the large format cameras such as 12x20, 11x14, and 8x10. The large negative that results provides crystal clear defintion and smooth tonality, a fewel like quality. On occasion he also uses the 5x7 and 4x5 format. For forays further away from the car he pulls out his extensive Hasselblad 2 1/4 system and/or his Nikon digtal gear.
Since Scott captures both with film and digital, he offers his prints both ways depending on whether the image is a negative or a digital file. From the digital files he produces fine giclee prints on the finest papers from an Epson 9600 printer. From the negatives he offers archival gelatin silver prints that are hand produced by Scott in his darkroom. When he has used the 12x20 or 11x14 camera to produce the negative, a pristine contact print is created. To purchase the photographs, please call Scott at his studio. Scott offers the prints three ways. You may buy just the print, the print double matted or the print with the double mat and framed.
