Feb 6, 2010 - Photo Shoot

by Scott on Mar.16, 2010, under Adventures

I packed the 4×5 camera and about 15 film holders and left before sunrise to just wander around. I headed towards the water and found myself at Ken Thompson Park on Lido Key. Watched the sun come up and made 8 exposures of water, boats, tree roots and an abstract of the side of the Ken Thompson memorial marker. I had taken along a muffin and orange juice which I got out of the car and sat at a picnic table to eat. A squirrel was very brave and really wanted my muffin. When he wouldn’t shoo and was less than 4 inches from me, I started to fear for my safety. I finished my muffin standing up and got out of there. I saw him watching me in my rear view mirror as I drove away.

I turned north up Longboat Key and stopped at Joan Durante Park. The sun was just spectacular off of the small fountain in the pond. I could not resist the mist of the water!

I continued up Gulf of Mexico Dr. until I crossed the North Longboat Bridge. Turned into the first access to South Bradenton Beach and found more images there under the bridge. Water just seems to draw me!

Now about 11 am and I am homeward bound.
